Popular poetry types include haiku, free verse, sonnets, and acrostic poems. It's one thing to define each type; it's another to enjoy a sample platter. Thousands of shining lights Twinkle from a darkened sky As soft as the glow of a firefly I gaze at them with thoughtful eyes
The stars dwindle into the distance And the night sky wanes into non-existence Waking from her slumber with slow persistence And pulling herself up as pastel colours paint the horizon
